Imagine a photography conference that wasn't! Instead of sitting in chairs listening to someone talk, come for beautifully styled shooting workshops mentored by the most incredible Wedding Photography Educators in North America.
At Focal we believe in building up the photography community, which is why we will not be profiting from this event. All proceeds will be invested back into the event as part of a mission to support gatherings of photographers like this for many years to come.

At the end of the Focal University you will get to shoot this stunning mermaid set at golden hour, styled by our amazing team (@nicoleashley, @fabloomosity, @behindtheblush).
The shoot will run from 5-7pm with three 40 minute time slots. Priority for choosing your slot (and the best light) will be given in order of the Focal University add-on purchases!
This will be the only opportunity to take pictures of the mermaid set at golden hour during Not-a-Conference!

We will be headed to the front lawn of Maui Pineapple Chapel for the first shooting workshop themed around surprise proposals and couple/engagement shoots to set tone!

Time for lunch with some delicious local catering! We will then be joined by the amazing Lindsay Coulter to bestow unto us her greatest advice and tips.

Continue to add to your growing portfolio as start our golden hour shoot.
Here we’ll shoot stunning engagement sets with our beautiful local models!

Time for lunch from some delicious local catering! We will then be joined by a surprise guest to provide some great photography business knowledge!

For our final shoot, we will be headed out to visit the renowned Olowalu Plantation House. Here we will have access to some amazing wedding sets on one of the most picturesque venues on the island, right in time for golden hour!
Later in the Evening join us for a pizza party and reminiscing on our amazing two days all together!
We’d love to have your partner attend.
The way we handle this is we offer a $250 pass which covers meals and transport for the partner.
The only rules are that your partner is not allowed to take photos or get in the way of shoots (to keep group sizes small).
They are allowed to take BTS of you though as long as they are respectful of the photographers trying to get their shots!!
Yes, we have finalized our venue the Maui Pineapple Chapel as well at the dates of May 1-2nd. A bonus day of Focal University will be an optional add-on April 30th.
No, but the Focal team will be setting up a group rate for the venue hotel as well as nearby hotels in order to help reduce costs!
We have group rates at the beautiful Napili Kai & Royal Lahaina starting from $350/night.
Tickets are non-refundable, however they are transferrable. Our team is happy to provide support in transferring tickets.
